Powered by Verifiable Credentials (VCs)
Digital assets today—like in-game items, avatars, and virtual collectibles, even achievements—are often stuck in the platforms where they are created. Users don't really own these assets and can't transfer them between games or platforms. This means there's no real way to prove ownership across ecosystems, and users have no control if the platform decides to change or remove their items.
Our solution changes this entirely by using verifiable credentials (VCs) combined with a Verifiable Data Registry (VDR) anchored on Shaicoin's blockchain. In this system, digital assets live off-chain, meaning they aren't directly stored on a blockchain, but instead use cryptographic proofs to track ownership and ensure security.
The VDR records the public keys of issuers on Shaicoin's blockchain, ensuring any verifier can check an asset's legitimacy without needing a centralized platform. Users control their assets with private keys, allowing them to transfer, trade, or use them across multiple digital platforms while keeping full ownership.
Creates and issues VCs, records public key on VDR
Possesses VCs and cryptographic proofs of ownership
Authenticates VCs using the VDR
The Standardization of Asset Data protocol defines a set of standardized data structures and types for Verifiable Credentials (VCs), ensuring that digital assets maintain consistent functionality across various ecosystems. This standardization allows assets, such as avatars or in-game items, to be easily recognized and utilized across different platforms or games, promoting interoperability and seamless user experiences.
